... and he had the intensity of Doug Schaupp during religious ceremonies (such as this Spanish quiemada, an incantation involving 200 proof grain alcohol. Long story.) ....

There was so much similarity, aside from the similar gestures, facial structure, build, origin (Palo Alto, CA), and even timber of his voice, that I had to ask him, "You wouldn't happen to be related to a Doug Schaupp??"

With a pleasantly surprised look on his face, he responded, "Doug Schaupp's my brother!"
Who would've guessed that me attending a tiny English immersion program at Englishtown would have me crossing paths with my college pastor's younger brother! Mike Schaupp currently lives in Spain with his Spanish wife and two kids. He's a one man theatre troupe and performs all over the Madrid area at businesses and schools!
Talk about coincidences !
