monday morning head rest

9.51 AM, Monday morning. It is a bit early still even though its almost 10 am. One of these days, I will emerge from the daily grind and I will conquer!! For those of you who are dreading being awake and at work this morning, the great part of it is that you'll get paid.
Positivity is one of my strengths, so here's the optimism that always manages to rear its necessary head:

Getting paid is good.

C & I watched THE CONSTANT GARDENER this past weekend. I have this wonderful man who manages to become interested in the things I'm interested in, and see the ray of hope in a Ralph Fiennes movie. (He, unlike, other males, have not yet been traumatized by the endless expectations that 183 minutes of THE ENGLISH PATIENT sets up for all men around the world.) Meanwhile, we ran into Eman who was on his way to watch THE 40-YEAR OLD VIRGIN. Maybe one day, there'll be a film called THE 40-YEAR OLD GARDENER, just to keep in themes with the quasi-literal film titles.

GARDENER was a tremendous film - full of stunning imagery, quite a headspin, so yes, it requires thinking. It definitely contained thrilling amounts of suspense, mystery, and afterwards fueled alot of anger and sadness for me. I found myself crying at the end of the film and praying that there would be some justice in this world. This is the kind of art that is worth making.

There was a trailer for BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN, which C thought was worth mocking. He had to keep himself from laughing. It is interesting how intimacy can be (mis)interpreted in so many different ways. I think Eman should see it. I hear he's really looking forward to it. That, and RENT. As for BROKEBACK, I'm interested in the Proulx story, so I'll go get that.

Okay, I haven't been on in a while, so I'm a bit rusty. More pictures about my birthday and trip to Indiana later. Yes. Indiana. So what?!
