Usually at my most stressed out, troubled, exhausted, over-worked.....
Shut the bedroom door, lock out the outside world, put on a familiar CD as the old friend to relax with, relax on my bed and write...
because then it is something I am doing for myself away from everything else in the world...
I feel my most creative when I have the most to block out, the most to get away from, and that's when it means the most and (in my experience) is the most productive....
(sorry - long post... final word of advice - old friend CD can't be too catchy... don't want to be singing along rather than writing... CD must work with you..)
when I feel the heat of what needs to come out.(writing) I usually am drinking tea and depending on what scene I am writing and what mood I am in and how much I want to torture my characters I listen to music.
For dance it depends on how much sleep I have had.

when do i think i'm most creative? usually after a few drinks...although the other people around probably would disagree.
