Lacing up the running shoes again

I've been wanting to do another endurance run ever since, well, I finished my first marathon in 2004. Our church is doing a project called [unite]. I love the trailer for this - it wasn't focused at all on running, it was focused on the mission of the run, which is World Vision. We will be raising money for various children who are sponsored by World Vision throughout different third world nations.

I kept a training log my run, and I'll continue to do the same here. My hope is to run a full marathon before this year is over, but its not really my choice depending on which marathons are still open.

Long Beach Half Marathon / October 15, 2006

Day 1
From Captain's Row off Marina del Rey to end of Jetty and roundtrip
Brisk air, cool breeze. I haven't run in ages, but 10 minutes into it, I found my stride. What an amazing feeling. I remembered that my goal was to always surprise myself during each run. I did last night, and as I kicked it up for the last 100 ft. I thought about all those who could not.

Game on!
