Spring in bloom ...

"Happy Resurrection Day!" Reggie handed out church programs to everyone streaming through the doors.

"Thanks, Happy Easter," people responded.

"Resurrection day? I like that!" I told him. He smiled as I copied his greeting. It was a good reminder that this was not just any Sunday. In some ways, though Christmas is important because we are celebrating the miraculous birth of Jesus, it is his resurrection that defines our faith. Not just a belief, but truly to be able to live filled with ...life. Jesus overcame death itself and in following Him, we walk in those same footsteps. Now that's hope!

It seems obvious that we should celebrate Resurrection Day, but it really wasn't until two weeks prior to Easter that we decided to host a party. And a wonderful, gathering we had. There are alot of folks who have no place to go to celebrate - so they came to our place! Terrific.

Eliz, Sandra and I:

Chris decorates our front lawn with Easter eggs. I had purchased some jellybeans to fill the eggs and Eliz filled it with candies and inspirational Easter quotes.

Mimosas anyone?

Grizz and Brian get ready to sink into the buffet. Everyone brought a dish.

Chris surprised me with an Edible Arrangements assortment. Yes, those are real strawberries, pineapple daisies and grapes! What a sweetheart.

Even Eliz is impressed (aghast?).

Afterwards, we lounged around on an overcast Easter afternoon and had some har har's to ANCHORMAN: THE LEGEND OF RON BURGUNDY. "Como estan, beeetches!"

With spring comes great weather (er, ok, maybe not so much lately). There isn't a better way to enjoy LA than to savor its outdoor venues. The Getty is able to boast a world class collection while celebrating its natural surroundings here in SoCal. Yesterday, the museum opened its first sketching gallery, an homage to how artists use to (and still do) practice the discipline of drawing. Chris drew a beautiful anatomical figure. I spent some time with a Dutch fishing lady.

Chris is a real lover of fine sculpture. He yelled out to me while we were at the Getty. "Look at that huge crotch!" Awesome.

It is always awesome when someone has the opportunity to yell out, "Look at the HUGE crotch!!" hahahaha.

Your party looked so fun and wonderful. And I'm glad you're enjoying the art at Getty (both others and your own!) HUGS!

Yes, B, but you spread the Easter love and that's what matters.
