During the summer time...

During the summer time...

We see old friends!

My friend C-Nap was traveling through LA from North Carolina en route to Cupertino. We've known each other for over ten years! Its unbelievable that there are folks I still know from high school. He's one of the funniest guys I know. He's also the only guy I know who is over six feet tall and still managed to pull off a convincing Yoda costume for Halloween. (Think knees attached to knees and start from there...) Here he is,just not as green...

Taking that photo was one my best friends Charlotte. In between writing long dissertations on poli sci for her PhD and traveling the world, she has time to send me handwritten letters. I taught her how to knit that weekend. She challenges me, encourages me and is one of my oldest friends. Here she is mastering the art of potholder making.

During the summer time, we ...

Host outdoor events! Here we are during our latest Knit Club event. Complainr was ever my faithful co hostess bringing various types of eco friendly yarns to "taste." Here we are enjoying the Marina sun and surf... mild surf as it was...

During the summer time...

We visit our relatives! Saw Nicholas again and spent the day with him playing at the park, renting videos from Blockbuster and drawing Star Wars lego cartoons. I also visited my new nephew Casey, who seems to be developing some male pattern baldness?

During the summer time...

We see blockbuster action movies. Can you guess where Chris and I are on our way to? Here's a clue: "Freedom is the right of all sentient beings." And yes, those are the original models from when Chris was a young boy!

During the summer time, we SPuGO! (Sort, Purge, Give, Organize) This time, I was asked to come back home-home (i.e. Cupertino) and do some old fashioned Spugoing so that my mom could have her home back! Didn't think I would have any more use for a cassette organizer, so out it went. Remember these things?

And then, of course, there was the Pop Swatch that I wore alot as a teenager. Here it is, in its "popped" stage.

When people ask me when I started knitting, I always say that my mother taught me when I was five or six... and here's proof! I had ambition for changing colors, eh?

And speaking of things knittish and crafty, Chris and I went to Felt Club. Here I am with Charles Phoenix and the portly Gluey Gluerson. Despite it being jam packed, sweaty, hot and it making me slightly cranky, it was an enlightening experience to see all the collective crafty efforts. There really is a new breed of craftsters out there, and it isn't our grandma (No offense grandma!).

And then finally, during the summer time... we.... rest...

Until next time, enjoy your summer (if you're reading this from the Northern Hemisphere! Sorry Dale and Cal...)
