And the soul felt its worth ...

Have you ever paid close attention to the lyrics in Christmas songs? Here is one worth paying close attention to.

My favorite, "O Holy Night." When I sing the lyrics, I am reminded again of why Christmas is important, and what it is about to begin with. Christmas has become mighty sugary, sort of new agey ("peace" "hope" "courage" "believe", huh?) materialistic and a holiday full of obligations to this and that. But, please, remember, the only thing worth remembering is the baby in the manger who became a man of sorrow. The man who was a the son of God. Died and rose again. For us. When was the last time, your very soul felt its worth?

As for the song.... even if her soaring vocal gymastics and obssession with Anne Geddes, and all that breast beating isn't your thing, you have to admit, she delivers this quite beautifully.

Merry Christmas!
