updates -
i just spent a week talking non stop english to a bunch of spanish urologists who were paid by a pharmaceuticals co. marketing an erectile dysfunction drug. needless to say, i had a great time, with great laughs, great foood. the little abandoned village i was in was magical. i made some new friends, and i´m currently in granada, travelling with one of them.
i´ll never forget englishtown - it was like camp, in a way, full of characters, stuck in a remote place with no place to go, and alot of gossip and hormones. i stayed out of it. it was serenity for me, and i´ll never forget it.
re: europe in general, people took the time to pay attention to details back then. its tremendous how things last when you take time to indulge in craftsmanship and indulge in beauty itself.
i saw a flamenco show, and it absolutely characterized the essence of grace, power and form. never again, will it be new for me, for this dancer was embodied the characteristics of true dance.
seville was hot, old, and full of soccer fans who flooded the streets at 12.30 am when their team, real betis, won a game. it was a truly spontaneous celebration.
today, a surpising rain in granada, and a mellow mood. my travel companion and i are a bit tired, but happy.
tomorrow, the famed alhambra, and then back to madrid, and then to san francisco. then, into my own bed, in the city of angels.
