'Tis the season for shoplifting?

Now that many trees are falling and the shoplifting has finally begun, nothing says Christmas like the mad dash to fulfill our obligations towards people to guess their deepest needs and wants. As you fight for that parking space, have you ever thought you could help plant a well in China? Or perhaps put an instrument in the hands of a musician? Or perhaps give an anonymous financial donation?

After reading Faetryn's post on Gift Giving I'm greatly encouraged by her initiative to channel our finances to the aide of others in lieu of gifts this season.

I've long been fascinated by the power that comes with money, so I'm all for moving our collective finances towards beneficiaries besides ourselves.

Although there will be some people who I am giving gifts to, I have already approached some folks about their charity of choice. Last week, I officially got hired by the non profit I was working for and I greatly believe in their educate and preserve music as well as provide financial assistance to musicians. Not to mention the spokesperson for our music replacement campaign is Edge from U2, so I was able to satisfy a couple U2 fans out there!

What do you guys think? (Honey, I'm returning your Ducati. I couldn't find a bow that fit anyway. And the yacht too...There will be more cruises in St. Tropez some other time ...)

Eliz, Clee, Myself, SV (Hey girls, let's donate the tree and build a well! Weee!)

Can you get me a Grammy for Christmas? Unlabeled is fine but if you can put "Best Spoken Word Album 1997" on it that would be great too.

I might have to wrangle one away from the winner, but I'll see what I can do.

Yeah, in my family this year we're each choosing a charity we want people to give to and only getting one gift. It's much better, wiser, and more Christianly, I agree. :)
