A thousand words....

Paul Theroux once said that although a picture tells a thousand words, it only still tells a thousand or so. Point being, that a writer can portray the most vivid of things without placing a camera between himself and the experience that is unfolding. Still, I think there are photographs that I am enamored by because I can say, "When I was young, this was how it was." The kind of photograph you place in a not so prominent part of your house, but when someone stumbles upon it, they're captivated by the flush of inspiration, love or joy displayed. So with that I leave you with one of my favorites.
